MiCareer Quest Follows on Heels of Successful Rally

CWDA’s key activities are concentrated in the first six months of each year, starting with our fundraiser Rally. Right on its heels, we kicked off planning efforts for the expansive and growing MiCareer Quest. To keep you informed, here are a few highlights of each:

Our 2016 Rally’s success was achieved with the leadership of Linda Vos-Graham and the CWDA team. Please thank these individuals for leading the charge. This year’s winner of the 2016 Rally went to the Ritsema team! Monies raised by this event totaled over $18,000. Once you’ve attended a Rally, you will understand why it’s contagious! We strongly recommend that you consider making it a priority next year. Thank you to everyone who participated and attended this year’s action-packed event!

MiCareer Quest 2016 will be held on May 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Volunteers representing the Construction industry have been meeting to coordinate planning efforts, layouts, and the student experiential piece. Each construction exhibit is encouraged to be hands-on in order to engage students and spark interest in various career paths.

Based on 2015 feedback, MiCareer Fair was added to this year’s event. The second part of the May 10 event is open to the public, students and parents for interaction with companies having open positions. Applications will be on hand from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

In addition to job applications at the MiCareer Fair, ASAM will be sponsoring our new internship program, linking individuals with opportunities in job shadowing, internships, and summer jobs. Don’t get left behind; build your workforce now! What internship or summer jobs do you have? Let’s collaborate in promoting construction careers!
