Elzinga & Volkers, Inc. took home the trophy at the third annual Michigan Contractor of the Year (MCOY) awards on October 4 at the Goei Center in Grand Rapids.
“Winning the MCOY is not a one-time shot,” said Mike Novakoski, president and CEO of Elzinga & Volkers. “We realize that without the trade partners, we're not successful, and we'd never be successful on our own. We've got this (nomination) to validate we're doing the right thing by our partners."
Honorable mentions were awarded to Dan Vos Construction, the 2010 winner and one of last year's honorable mentions, and Pioneer Construction, a first-time finalist. The other 2012 nominees were The Christman Company, Erhardt Construction and Owen-Ames-Kimball, who took home the MCOY award last year.
