Our team is here for you
The ASA of Michigan is dedicated to empowering subcontractors in West Michigan through networking, effective advocacy, and continuous learning opportunities. Our association offers a diverse range of benefits tailored to meet the needs of every member.
Executive Board
President
Jennifer Sanford (Phoenix Interiors)
Why I joined ASAM:
Being a part of ASAM has provided me with the opportunity to have significant connections in the trade partner industry, which has led to friendships and other mutual trade partner benefits. The rewards I reap from my service to ASAM are also contingent on the effort I put into it. Going to the meetings, making the connections and then having conversations with some of the best construction companies in the Michigan market.
Vice President
Mike Lyttle (West Michigan Dirtworks)
Why I joined ASAM:
I joined the organization to help facilitate better communication, relationships, and planning between General Contractors and Subcontractors. There can be communication breakdowns that are detrimental to a project’s success, and most of the time those can be solved through open discussion, and better planning. The ASAM helps facilitate better communication and relationships by hosting round table events, networking events, and construction advancement forums which are extremely beneficial to member companies.
Past President
Travis Koetje (Burgess Concrete)
ASAM membership provides the opportunity to build strong relationships with trade contractors and GC/CM partners, learn from the experiences and expertise of others in the industry, and have a powerful voice in shaping the future of construction.
Secretary
Jon Lunderberg (Brown & Brown Insuranc)
Why I joined ASAM:
Working together to deliver solutions. I learn something from virtually every ASAM meeting. I find a better way to get something done; I find a problem to avoid; I meet a person who can help or has a better idea; I get challenged to see things from new or different perspective; et al. I get tremendous value from ASAM when I listen, look, and learn. I love being around people who are smarter than I am; for 18 years, the ASAM board has been my “private roundtable”.
Treasurer
Mitch Pepper (Doren Mayhew)
Why I joined ASAM:
I joined the board of ASAM for many different reasons but two standout. First, to offer my accounting background to help further the mission of ASAM by providing the board with crucial financial information necessary to steer the direction of ASAM. Second, to listen, learn, and connect with professionals in the construction community to understand the challenges and successes endured in the field day in and day out. It has been a tremendous pleasure to volunteer alongside such talented people who share a common goal of growing, educating, and supporting those in the construction industry in our community.
Executive Director
James Bockheim (Alternative Mechanical)
Why I joined ASAM:
The collaborative trade contractor culture has allowed ASAM to tackle challenges together and build long lasting relationships inside and outside of the industry. ASAM has been able to adapt to current industry needs and support ASAM membership effectively. The success of ASAM depends on the continued committed collaboration. Michigan chapter members attend events, build their networks, and share best practices from their own businesses. All of these contributions help make ASAM what it is today.
