Shailesh Kumar is the Head of the Global Insights Center. In this capacity he oversees economic and geopolitical research to provide insights and risk advisory services to the firm’s leadership, underwriting departments, and its clients, brokers, and agents. The Insights Center is the Hartford’s centralized research hub, think tank, and consulting unit that helps establish the firm’s view of the economic and geopolitical landscape for the insurance lines to support risk decisions. Before joining The Hartford, Shailesh was at the Eurasia Group, a geopolitical risk consulting firm. Prior to that, Shailesh served as an economist at the US Department of Treasury and earlier in this career Shailesh worked at various investment banks as a global macro investment specialist. Shailesh holds a masters degree in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and a dual bachelors degree in Finance and Marketing from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
