MCOY Awards

The American Subcontractors Association of Michigan (ASAM) named Pioneer Construction Michigan Contractor of the Year (MCOY) at the annual awards gala on Sept. 20, 2018. There were eight 2018-2019 MCOY nominees in total; the 1st Runner Up Award was given to Dan Vos Construction Company and the 2nd Runner Up Award to Elzinga & Volkers. ASAM would like to thank all eight nominees for a job well done. The 2018-2019 Awards marked the event’s ninth successful year of acknowledging the outstanding General Contractors and Construction Managers in Michigan.

2018 Keynote Speaker:
Redmond “Red” Ramos deployed to Afghanistan as a combat replacement for 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, Navy Corpsman. While in Afghanistan, Ramos was rushing to assist an injured Marine when he stepped on an IED, losing his left leg. Since then, he has participated in CBS’s “The Amazing Race” and also competed and won the first season of “Triumph Games.” Ramos delivered a powerful, inspiring presentation. The MCOY winner, two honorable mentions and all nominees are recognized at the MCOY Awards event. 

Something new this year, $10 of every ticket sold was earmarked for the ASAM Endowment and Scholarship Fund and the CWDA Jump Start Program.
