Event Overview

On a jobsite with multiple trades working side by side, determining who’s responsible for a safety hazard isn’t always straightforward. And when MIOSHA issues citations, responsibility doesn’t necessarily stop with the contractor who created the hazard.

You don’t have to create a hazard to be cited for it.

Join ASAM for our Quarterly Safety Meeting as we take an in-depth look at MIOSHA’s Multi-Employer Worksite Policy and the four citable roles: Creating, Exposing, Correcting, and Controlling Employers.

Featuring a representative from MIOSHA’s Consultation Education and Training (CET) Division, this session will help you understand where your company’s responsibilities begin and end, how citations can extend across multiple trades, and what you can do to protect your company.

Key Takeaways

Attendees will walk away with actionable insights, including:

  • Understanding the 4 Citable Roles: Learn how MIOSHA classifies Creating, Exposing, Correcting, and Controlling Employers and what each designation means for your company.
  • Recognizing Secondary Citation Risks: Understand how your company could receive a citation for hazards created or left uncorrected by another contractor, even when your crew isn’t performing that work.
  • Protecting Your Company: Learn field documentation and communication practices that can help clarify responsibilities and reduce citation exposure.
