ASAM Hard Hat

Development

ASAM partners with Kent Career Technical Center (KCTC) for this education program, which brings students together with professionals for discussion and first-hand exploration, in the classroom and on the jobsite. ASAM members make presentations, lead jobsite/facility tours and conduct job-shadowing visits in this three-part program.

Scholarship

Created in 2012, the Hard Hat Scholarship and Endowment offers an annual scholarship to assist one student majoring in construction trades at Ferris State University. For the first two years, the $1,500 scholarship was generously donated by Wells Fargo Insurance Services, USA. ASAM subsequently fulfilled the $25,000 endowment needed to sustain the program.

Directory

In 2013, the Education Committee developed the first edition of the Hard Hat Education directory. The directory is a resource for local educators, guidance counselors and faculty to connect with trades professionals, subcontractors and suppliers who are available for educational opportunities, mentoring and speaking engagements.
